A LONG-AWAITED DEBUT
The specialized press and Lamborghini’s most faithful enthusiasts had been waiting for a long time. Finally, on December 4, the Italian company’s new, high-performance SUV was unveiled at the headquarters of the Italian manufacturer of luxury supercars, sports cars and SUV, in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.
“LAMBORGHINI’S MOST IMPORTANT MODEL IN THIS DECADE”
The Italian car manufacturer called it the “SSuv”, meaning the “Super Suv”, a hyper-car blending high performance capacities and extremely elegant design. This new-born URUS is a four-door, front-engine vehicle, endowed with a powerful 650-horse power engine. Reaching a top speed of 205 mph (328 km/h), it has been created to energetically face slippery, icy or snowy roads, and uneven stony or sandy terrains.
TODAY FASTEST SUV IN THE WORLD
This outstanding off-roader is Lamborghini’s second SUV and, according to the Italian company’s CEO Stefano Domenicali, is expected to double the brand’s annual sales reaching a total number of 7000 cars sold worldwide.
According to the company, this twin-turbocharged V8 super SUV is able to hit 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds, beating therefore the already extremely fast Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover Autobiography, Porsche Cayenne and all the other rivals of its segment.
A VISIONARY APPROACH
“The Lamborghini Urus is a visionary approach based on the infusion of Lamborghini DNA into the most versatile vehicle, the SUV. The Urus elevates the SUV to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV.” Lamborghini’s CEO Stefano Domenicali explained in a statement.
This ultra-luxury vehicle, also available with adaptive air suspension and carbon ceramic brakes, enters its competitive market with a starting price of US $200,000.
The Italian automotive manufacturer expects to begin the Urus’ delivery not before the spring of 2018.
“It is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion as well as drivable every day in a range of environments,” added Stefano Domenicali.
