THE ISLAND OF EMPERORS
An incredible maritime haven in the Tyrrhenian Sea, on the southern part of the Gulf of Naples, the island of Capri has been loved and cherished for centuries by the nearby Naples’ lucky inhabitants, by Italian tourists and visitors coming from all around the world.

Inhabited since the Neolithic and the Bronze Age, Capri’s first real development is due to the Roman Emperor Augustus who ordered to build temples, aqueducts, magnificent gardens and villas in what became his personal little paradise. He was only the first of many Roman emperors who decided to take advantage of Capri’s unique beauties.
A REFUGE FOR NATURE’S LOVERS
Capri is, above all, a refuge for demanding nature’s lovers. Maybe its most well known natural treasure is the Grotta Azzurra (the Blue Grotto). In this unparalleled sea cave on the coast, approximately 150 meters deep, sunlight, penetrating through an underwater hole, creates a marvelous blue reflection that gives to the cavern a unique color.
Not to be missed are also the little harbor in the town Marina Piccola and, of course, the internationally known “Faraglioni”. Those unmistakable limestone cliffs have become the worldwide “face” of Capri, and a renowned setting for commercial adds and films.
THE ARTISTS’ HAVEN
Capri’s beauty has mesmerized and inspired artists from Italy and from all around the world. Maybe the Italian contemporary artist more in love with the island was the writer Curzio Malaparte, who, like a Roman emperor, left the legacy of his passion for Capri with the exceptional villa he built in 1937. A stunning example of Italian modern architecture, this mansion, facing the sea, is used today to host research and cultural events.
