New Audi Q3: bigger and more high-tech
The Audi renews the Q3 presenting the second generation, profoundly reviewed both technically and stylistically.
The design of the Audi Q3 follows the new labels and is more aggressive and up-to-date, while the adoption of the Mqb modular platform has made it possible to modify the dimensions while also optimizing comfort and interior space. The new Q3 will debut on the market in the fall.
The new Audi Q3 is 4.48 meters long (+97 mm) with a wheelbase of 2.68 meters (+78 mm). The width has increased by 18 mm (1.84 meters), while the height has been reduced by 5 mm. Thanks to the sliding rear seat (150 mm) it is possible to achieve a variable luggage capacity between 530 and 675 liters, which rise to 1,525 by lowering the backrests. The tailgate can also be operated electrically by moving the foot under the bumper.
The exterior design is inspired by the latest Audi and emphasizes the width of the wheel arches, while the single-frame mask is renewed with rounded elements and the octagonal cut more accentuated. The optical groups exploit the LED technology and the frontal ones offer the Matrix LED system as an option. Customers will be able to customize the Q3 by adopting two-tone paint, with lower contrasting elements compared to the eleven main colors. As with most of the manufacturer’s models, the S line will also be offered on the SUV.
The interiors integrate premium solutions such as the digital cockpit and the Mmi Touch infotainment. The latter, available in 8.8 or 10.1 inch versions and equipped with functions similar to the upper class models, is inclined towards the driver and surmounted by the air vents, while the shape of the central console and the air conditioning controls it is more traditional. The 10.25-inch display of the instrumentation is standard for all trim levels, while the additional functions of the virtual cockpit are optional. Opting for the most complete infotainment, which includes navigation and Audi Connect services with onboard Lte and internal hotspot, the new advanced voice commands and the use of Here maps with real-time information on traffic and parking are also integrated , on refueling points and with the communication between vehicles for the exchange of information on possible dangers on the route. There are also many customizations, with the choice between the basic environment, the Audi Design or the S line, and unpublished Alcantara coatings extended to the dashboard and the armrests of the doors, in addition to the new Bang & Olufsen sound system developed in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute is equipped with fifteen loudspeakers and 680 Watts.
By adopting the Mqb platform and the latest technology derived from the superior models, the new Audi Q3 takes a decisive step forward also on the front of the Adas. The Traffic Jam Assist is available for automated traffic guidance, lane change warning, automatic parking, 360-degree cameras, downhill assistance and front pre-sense with emergency braking automatic. Audi Drive Select with the choice of Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Offroad, Efficiency and Individual driving modes is also available on request.
