The new Aston Martin Rapide AMR

Less class, more grit

It must pass some more time, maybe a couple of years, but Aston Martin Rapide still wants to amaze. It does so with the new layout AMR, which stands for Aston Martin Racing and means more grit and performance, a little bit like it happened for the DB11 AMR.

A V12 engine aspirated of six liters
The Aston Martin Rapide AMR mounts the now-old naturally aspirated engine 6.0 V12, which has undergone some changes to raise the power to 603 hp (against the 559 of the Rapide S). It does not change the torque, which is always 630 Nm. The engine, combined with the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, pushes the British sports sedan up to a speed of 330 km / h with acceleration 0-100 km / h in 4.4 seconds . High level values considering that the AMR Rapide has a weight of 1,990 kg.

Top technology
No modification to the Aston Martin Rapide AMR aluminum frame structure. The transmission is arranged in the rear-center position (tansaxle scheme, with the engine in the longitudinal front position), the traction is on the wheels behind. For the braking system, carboceramic discs have been chosen. The suspensions maintain the basic structure of those of the Rapide S, but have been lowered by 10 mm and revised to adapt the behavior of the road to higher performance. The work done on the aerodynamic elements was similar, with the search for the best performance. Precisely in this work, the experience made with the Aston Martin involved in the races was particularly taken into consideration. All this combined with an interior design made of care certosina to have a cozy and elegant, with all the technological equipment available today.
