The new Mercedes CLA sports sedan and its CLA Shooting Brake station wagon variant, have been a great success for Mercedes, which in five years of production (exactly from 2013 to 2018) has built over 750,000 units. The German company expects even better results from the second generation, which will arrive in dealerships in spring after the start of production in the past few days, when the first model of the Mercedes CLA 2019 was completed at the Kecskemét factory in Hungary.
The new amazing Mercedes CLA is built on the front-wheel drive platform of the German company, shared with the A-Class and its derivatives. Let’s say something more about its details: the Mercedes CLA is more than 5 cm longer than the old generation, so that it appears even more streamlined and slender. Its look is inspired by the coupé: it has a sloping roof, windows without frames and gritty looking details, like the thin headlights and the big mask. The first engine announced is the 225 bhp 2.0 petrol of the CLA 250, but in the coming months will arrive even the quieter 1.3 petrol (up to 163 hp) and diesel 1.5 and 2.0. Should not miss the gritty CLA 35 and 45 developed by the AMG. Prices will start at around 35,000 euros.
