Mclaren started the dynamic testing of the new Senna GTR and released its first official information. The sports track will be produced in only 75 copies, all already booked, with a list price of 1.2 million euros, excluding taxes: the first deliveries are scheduled for September 2019.
Initially the testers of the Woking House will test the updated components of the track variant on a specially modified road Seine: the final bodywork, of which the manufacturer has just branched out a first sketch, will greatly evolve the forms of the license plate version, with respect to which it will have wheel arches wider and new aerodynamic appendages. The rims will have a single-nut fixing system, as typical of the competitions, while at the rear there will be a new extractor and an active wing that will update the look of the car along with a new front bumper. The aerodynamic modifications will allow the Senna GTR to generate at least 1,000 kg of aerodynamic load.
Being a track model, many of the components necessary for road circulation will be eliminated, starting from the airbags up to the infotainment and the instrument panel: for the moment, however, the House has not revealed the final weight of the car . The air conditioning will remain in the passenger compartment, where there will also be a new steering wheel with integrated gearshift controls. Finally, there will also be a lack of equipment usually absent on competition cars, the rear collision avoidance system, a radar which, in maneuvers, signals the presence of other cars.
As for the powertrain, the McLaren technicians will further enhance the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, bringing it up to 825 hp, 25 more than the model with license plate. The maximum torque will be 800 Nm and the updated version of the engine will have a specific calibration for use between the curbs. Finally, the trim and braking system will also be specific. The double quadrilateral suspension will derive from the GT3 of the House, while the brakes, combined with slick tires signed Pirelli, will guarantee decelerations of up to 3g, offering 20% more braking power than the road system.
