THE FACTORY WHERE DREAMS BECOME REALITY
Over the past months, the Italian press has thoroughly and enthusiastically talked about the new Lamborghini’s super SUV, URUS, but also about the incredible factory – in Sant’Agata Bolognese (Italy) – where the new vehicle is assembled and produced.
LAMBORGHINI’S MOST IMPORTANT MODEL OF THE DECADE
The famous Italian car manufacturer pointed out, since the beginning, that its new super SUV – the first one of this kind for the company – harmoniously blends high performance capacities and a very sophisticated design. This four-door, front-engine vehicle is, in fact, endowed with a powerful 650-horse power engine and can reach a top speed of 205 mph (328 km/h). The new URUS certainly represents a fundamental car for the Italian brand, appreciated worldwide since its foundation in 1963, in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Moreover, this new “super Sedan” also marked a sort of internal relaunch for the company and represented an exceptional opportunity to reaffirm the national pride standing strong behind the brand’s production and success.
Initially, but the Lamborghini’s management – starting from the former CEO, Stephan Winkelmann – finally changed its mind and decided to boost its Sant’Agata Bolognese factory in order to produce the Urus there, with the company’s long-time specialized workers.
A wise decision which made it possible to double all the global official figures related to the brand: the factory’s dimension, for example, increased from 80.000 to 160.000 square meters, and its staff has grown from 800 people to almost 1600. A reason and a consequence, at the same time, of the incredible, growing world-wide success of the Aventador and Huracan models, whose sales have experienced, in 2016, a 7% increase in relation to 2015.
AN “ITALIAN MIRACLE”
The brand new assembly line (with its finishing department), specifically conceived for the URUS model, has struck the imagination of all the journalists, politicians and special visitors who have had the chance to discover the Lamborghini factory. The factory also includes a nearby private test drive circuit, the warehouses logistics and a state-of-the-art trigeneration plant.
