AN EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME
When asked by “This is Money” – a British Financial website – , during the last Los Angeles Motor show, if he would choose a brand new Jaguar’s E-Pace sports car, launched in the American market, or a classic E-Type Jaguar, already renowned in the 1960s, the famous British Male supermodel, David Gandy, could not easily offer an answer.
This passionate lover of supercars and, above all, of British most iconic vehicles – such as Jaguar’s ones – is, in fact, one of the best spokespeople this British multinational can have around the world. He recently featured in a lifestyle photo-shoot, for the magazine “Nobleman”, along with both vehicles in an extraordinary scenery: at the El Mirage Lake, a dry lake bed in the northwestern Victor Valley, in the heart of the Mojave Desert.
An aficionado of 1960s classic cars, elegant design and history….David Gandy is also eager for speed, performance and engineering miracles. When asked to participate to what Jaguar considers “an experience of a lifetime” – a stay in the company’s “Ice Academy” – he certainly did not hesitate.
JAGUAR ICE ACADEMY
The Jaguar-Land Rover Ice Academy is situated in Arjeplog in Swedish Lapland, just a few miles away from the Arctic Circle. Located on one of the countless frozen lakes of the region, this special Academy offers to supercars’ lovers the possibility to experience the exciting pleasure to drive the latest Jaguar and Land Rover models (the F-TYPE and the F-PACE, as well as the Range Rover Sport and the new Range Rover Velar) on an icy, slippery land.
A difficult, sometimes even extremely challenging task. However the lucky drivers of the Ice Academy will never be left alone. Attentively followed by Jaguar-Land Rover experienced instructors, they will learn to enhance their driving skills, to drive courageously yet carefully on one of the most difficult terrain: an ice track, surrounded by endless pine forests.
David Gandy, who got to test the all electric Jaguar I-Pace there and shared its memories on social media, seemed thrilled by the experience.
