China is opening itself more and more to the world and Chinese tourists are becoming extremely important to culturally rich countries, like Italy, whose economy is intimately linked to the touristic sector’s development.
Therefore, over the last years, Italy has become one of the top destinations for a growing number of Chinese travelers.
According to a recent survey organized by the China Tourism Academy, Chinese tourists’ highest satisfaction levels are linked to their trips to Italy, Singapore and the United States. And Italy, not surprisingly, ranked the highest in the Chinese Tourists Satisfaction Index.
A huge potential clientele for Italy and an always more demanding one….since Chinese tourists are eager for the best in terms of services quality, linguistic support, hotel facilities, visa processing time etc.
ITALY’S BEST ASSETS FOR CHINESE VISITORS
According to recent researches and market studies, Chinese visitors are the most important spenders in Italy, especially for luxury goods. And the city of Milan has, therefore, become the top national destination representing approximately 33% of all the financial transactions made by Chinese tourists in Italy for local merchandise.
Somehow, in spite of all the differences between two completely dissimilar countries, in terms of history, culture, dimensions etc., Chinese visitors start to feel at home in Italy. Even if, most of the time, they prefer to eat in Chinese restaurants, the Italian Mediterranean cuisine, with its richness of aromas and flavors, someway brings to mind some Chinese gastronomic specialties, such as pasta, which reminds the famous Chinese noodles.
