Our new luxury car: Ferrari 458 Spider

Ferrari 458 Spider is a whole new generation of Ferrari’s convertible cars. It is said to be a car with an effortless marriage of technology, design, and beauty. Ferrari 458 Spider was first premiered at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011. It is a convertible variant of Ferrari 458 Italia. It is also the first car ever to have a combine mid-rear engine and a retractable folding top which weighs 35 kilograms. The engine cover has been designed in such a way that it accommodates the retractable rooftop. The design of the Ferrari 458 spider gives not just a very sporty look, but also adds power to your weekend trips a deux.

Engine

The Spider comes with a V8 – 90degree engine, with direct injection and dry sump. The maximum power is up to 419KW (570 CV) at 9000 rpm. The sound supplied by the 570 horse power engine is like music to the ears.

While the new Ferrari 458 Spider has the same engine as its predecessors, it has impressive performance figures, with an acceleration of 0-100 km/h. However, the top speed is lower, 199 mph (320 km/h).

Interior

The design of the Spider has been lavished with high attention to detail on space and ergonomics. The finish and trim befits the car’s position within its range. The Spider’s interior retains the Italia 458’s interior to ensure the driver feels that he is at the very center of the car and also reduces the driver’s hand movement for more focus and concentration on the road.

Fuel Consumption Emission and Electronic Controls

The 458 Spider had a fuel consumption of 19.9 mpg (11.81/100km) and the CO2 Emissions emitted by the Spider are about 0.442kgCO2/mile (275 g CO2/km). The electronic controls of the car include the E-Diff3 and a high-performance ABS with Ferrari pre-fill. The car is fitted with 7 gears and a dual clutch transmission.

458 Coupe

The 458 Coupe has an 8 cylinder V8 engine with a transmission of 7 speed automatic. The engine displacement is 4499cc and has a fuel tank capacity of 86 liters. The max power of coupe is 480 bhp @ 9000 rpm, and the max torque is 540 Nm @ 6000 rpm. It is a rear wheel drive with a turning radius of 5.4 meters.
