The BMW M8 will reach 600 hp and will be available in two versions: Cabrio and Gran Coupé. So BMW has officialized new details on the new M8, the sports coupé that will be officially presented in these coming months. The two high-performance doors entered the final phase of development, during which the latest improvements will be made before the debut on the market, expected by the end of next year. In addition to the coupe version, the sports car will also be featured in two other bodywork variants: in the months following the launch, the M8 Cabriolet and the four-door M8 Gran Coupé will also arrive on the market.
This new model has the heart of a BMW M5. Indeed, inside the hood of the three versions will be present the same 4.4-liter V8 biturbo of the BMW M5, credited, on the coupe as on the sedan, of 600 hp. It will be combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission with M xDrive all-wheel drive that will also allow you to electronically decouple the front axle to transform the sports car into a pure rear-wheel drive at any time. To manage the exuberance of the eight cylinders there will be a braking system with 395 mm ventilated front discs and six-piston calipers: on request you can also have a system with 400 mm carboceramic disks at the front and 380 mm at the rear. In both cases the BMW M8 will be offered with 19 “alloy wheels, replaceable, on request, with 20” wheels with high performance tires.
