The Audi e-tron will be coming soon on the market
The interior of the Audi e-tron is muffled and hi-tech
The e-tron, the first 100% electric car of the Audi, is just a few months away from the debut on the market. After showing it at the Geneva Motor Show, with a camouflaged body, the Ingolstadt’s House adds another piece, unveiling the interior of the prototype version: silent and technological, introduces the absolute novelty of the displays of the virtual exterior rear-view mirrors.
Starting from the on-board design, which the Audi defines as minimal-chic, a large arch embraces the broad horizontal plank, culminating in the door trim. Inside there is the Audi virtual cockpit and 7-inch high contrast Oled displays, on which are projected digitally processed images of virtual mirrors, consisting of flat supports that integrate a small camera. The driver can select different settings using touch controls: for example, he can move a section of the screen, adjusting the field of view, and increase or reduce the image zoom. And, through the MMI infotainment system, it can also select three display modes: for highway driving, for turns and for parking. Between the driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat, the console stands out along the tunnel, where there is space for the hand rail structure with integrated transmission switch.
As expected from a high-end Audi, quality coatings, from Valcona leather to brushed aluminum, abound on e-tron. On request, the seats can be embellished with contrast stitching and orange piping, whose design is inspired by high-voltage electrical circuits. The package for diffused lighting also enhances the essential lines of the interior.
Thanks to a wheelbase of 2,928 mm and the absence of the central tunnel in the rear, the electric SUV can accommodate five people and their luggage. Spacious, therefore, but also silent: the acoustic comfort, explain from Ingolstadt, reaches here a new level. The rolling of the tires, the technicians promise, is the only audible noise and this allows to enhance the qualities of the Bang & Olufsen Sound System 3D Premium, which can be equipped with 16 speakers and a 705 Watt amplifier.
