The famous italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo tries to conquer this year the Chinese market for luxury sports cars with two incredible models: the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a high-performance SUV with an aggressive design. To give dynamism to an impressive car (it is 470 cm long, 216 wide and 168 high) there are also the vents on the bonnet to emphasize the need for more engine cooling and a “muscular” silhouette emphasized by the large wheel arches and 20″ burnished alloy. The sporty impression is confirmed in the cockpit with the traditional double-domed dashboard and the console slightly oriented towards the driver’s seat. The seats are very sporty, upholstered in leather and Alcantara with red, white and green or dark gray stitching. The use of carbon fiber for the console, tunnel, steering wheel rim and other details is also valuable. In order to seduce the wealthy Chinese customers, the Italian brand’s managers have focused on prestigious mechanics. The engine of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the 2.9 V6 bi-turbo in aluminum developed with Ferrari technology and technical skills. A unit able to develop 510 HP of power and 600 Nm of maximum torque that allow you to move the Stelvio from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 “and to make it travel up to 283 km / h. These numbers were obtained also thanks to the use of ultralight materials such as carbon fiber for the transmission shaft and aluminum for engine, suspension, brakes, doors, wheel arches, bonnet and tailgate. The result is a SUV with a dry weight of 1830 kg. A combination of technologies that has enabled the Quadrifoglio to obtain two category records: the best weight / power ratio (3.6 kg / hp) and the best specific power (176 CV / l).
In addition to the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Alfa Romeo tries to achieve significant market shares in the market for luxury sports cars, which are growing rapidly in China, with three other cars. One is the “normal” Stelvio with a 2.0-liter 200 hp and 280 hp engine, always combined with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The other two examples are the Alfa Romeo Giulia, always with the 2-liter 200-hp turbo, and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, sports sedan that shares with the SUV the 2.9-liter 2.9-liter bi-turbo V6 unit, but with 3.9 seconds performance for acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h and 307 km / h for maximum speed.
