At the recent 2018 CES, held in Las Vegas, the automotive sector was certainly one of the main players. Because, today, this industry is certainly one of the most eager consumers of innovation and bold technologies.
Without any doubt, Jaguar Land Rover shows perfectly this on-going transformation and embodies ultra-modernity and state-of-the-art equipment.
This British multinational automotive company, headquartered in Whitley (United Kingdom), is, in fact, more and more connected. Hyper-velocity and ultra-fast connectivity are, in fact, the new features characterizing this company and some of its competitors.
JAGUAR LAND ROVER’S GROUNDBREAKING CONNECTED TECHNOLOGY
While the whole automotive sector is rapidly moving towards 5G, the British company made significant announcements at the 2018 Las Vegas CES.
As the brand’s management already stated, every company’s vehicle will soon benefit from the highly advanced QualcommⓇ SnapdragonTM 820Am Automotive platform. Thanks to this platform, Jaguar Land Rover cars “will feature ultra-quick and efficient connectivity, limitless in-car entertainment and over-the-air downloads. Customers will also benefit from immersive in-vehicle experiences with stunning displays and graphics throughout.”
This platform has been, in fact, developed to enhance all vehicles’ intelligence, awareness and, consequently, also road safety.
However, Qualcomm Technologies is just one of the many partners with which Jaguar Land Rover is currently cooperating in the field of the next-generation Connected and Autonomous (CAV) technologies.
The British brand is also working with Gentex – a company developing, for example, camera-based driver assistance systems for the automotive industry –, in order to incorporate the HomeLink Connect system into its InControl apps. That way, all drivers will control home devices through their vehicle’s infotainment screen.
Moreover, Jaguar Land Rover is working with Panasonic in order to improve the company’s Touch Pro Duo system, and has recently started pivotal partnerships with CloudCar, Lisnr, Quanergy and Mycroft AI.
